This integrated team works as a virtual network services department for customers across the country. It is led by a senior management group with extensive experience in communications and IT networking.
Gilles Desmarais
President
Gilles Desmarais is a co-founder of Viva Networks. He is responsible for developing and executing corporate strategies that drive continuous growth of the Viva Networks business. He is accountable for achieving corporate excellence and continuing improvements. And he manages effective research and development, business development and operational initiatives.
Gilles has more than 29 years of experience in the telecommunications industry. He has held executive, management, sales and technical positions. Before co-founding Viva Networks, he served as President and Chief Operating Officer of RAMTelecom, a satellite service company, which was eventually purchased by OmniGlobe Networks in 2009. Gilles has a technology-driven background gained through management positions with Ericsson Canada and Sixdion Inc., as well as sales and technical positions with I-Star Internet and Information Dimensions.
Chris Stratton
Vice-president Technology
Chris Stratton is a co-founder of Viva Networks. He is responsible for effective operations and administration of the IT networking side of the Viva Networks operation. He is accountable for delivering exceptionally sound technology solutions and customer-oriented services. Chris has more than 25 years of experience in IT services, technology solutions, security, data center operations and, delivery of mission critical IT services and support to customers.
Chris' background is diverse. It includes expertise in technology architecture, design, implementation and support, application support, operating systems deployments, virtualization, security implementation, IP encryption and LAN/WAN networking and design. He brings strong leadership qualities that are supported by a technology-driven background gained through more than 10 years managing IntelliSyn Communications, a Viva Networks strategic partner. His previous experience includes senior-level positions with Bell Canada, G Capital, Ericsson Canada, Department of Foreign Affairs, Ottawa Police, Museum of Science and Technology, Disney, St. John Ambulance and more.
